Colorado Rare Earths, Inc. (CREC) (OTCBB: CALY) announced today that initial sampling during claim staking has returned high levels of the Heavy Group Rare Earth Elements (HREE). The results, based on grab samples from the Company’s claims at Iron Hill, a.k.a. Powderhorn, and Wet Mountains locations in Colorado, were analyzed by Actlabs, www.actlabs.com, of Ontario, Canada, the world’s leading analytical laboratory for the minerals industry. A United States Geological Survey report, released in December 2010, “The Principal Rare Earth Elements Deposits of the United States,” identified the Iron Hill Complex and Wet Mountains Area as the only two rare earth elements deposits located in Colorado.
“Field observations by our geologists found veins ranging from a few inches to 15 feet wide at the surface with vein averaging greater than 2 feet in width”
The grab samples were collected from outcrop veins several feet wide, with one running for approximately one and one-half miles along the staked claims in the North-West area of the Powderhorn district. “Field observations by our geologists found veins ranging from a few inches to 15 feet wide at the surface with vein averaging greater than 2 feet in width,” noted Greg Schifrin, President of CREC, who will oversee a core sample drilling program as well as additional vein sample analysis.
