Mining’s old guard needs strong medicine
A new report details subpar investor returns in the mining industry over the last decade, particularly big cap diversified companies which have not adapted to new realities.

Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, is host the 12th International Conference on Mineral Processing Technology at Udaipur between 20-22 October. The conference will focus on various mineral processing issues and initiatives to promote more efficient extraction of metals from mineral resources as well as better waste management. The theme for this year’s event is “Recent Advances in Processing of Non-Ferrous and Industrial Minerals”. The three-day conference, which is expected to attract over 500 delegates from India and abroad, has already received close to 230 research papers and will include about 200 presentations, Hindustan Zinc stated in a press release.
