Botswana Diamonds gets environmental nod for Thorny River
Company expects the mining permit to be granted within the next six weeks, following further community consultations.
CBC News is reporting that a huge diamond from the Ekati mine in northern Canada was auctioned off in Belgium for $6 million:
The 78-carat diamond from BHP Billiton’s Ekati mine in the Northwest Territories was sold in Antwerp on Monday, Valentine’s Day.
The company would not disclose the buyer of the diamond, called the “Ekati Spirit.”
