Tectonic Metals gets funding for gold exploration in Alaska
The company's Flat gold project is located 40 km north of the giant Donlin gold project.
Canadian gold company Claude Resources Inc. has published a resource estimate for its Amisk property, located in northeast Saskatchewan about 20 kilometres from Flin Flon, Manitoba. The independent mineral resources statement shows indicated resources of 30,150 tonnes graded at 0.85 g/t gold and 6.17 g/t silver, and 28,653 tonnes inferred at 0.64 g/t Au and 4.01 g/t silver.
The Amisk project is a joint venture between Claude Resources and St. Eugene Mining Corporation.
“The successful integration of our 2010 exploration with historic drilling to generate this geological model and open pit resource estimate is the culmination of an aggressive 12-month exploration program and is a major milestone for the Amisk Gold Project and Claude Resources,” said Brian Skanderbeg, Claude’s Vice-President, Exploration. “Moving forward at Amisk, we will focus on expansion of the open pit resource, preliminary metallurgical, engineering and economic studies, as well as an evaluation of the underground potential.
“Furthermore, with the support of a continued strong gold price, strong working capital, planned initiation of Phase II underground drilling at Madsen in the first quarter 2011 and improving economics at our Seabee Gold Project, Claude is well-positioned to capitalize on the current gold market and execute on its strategy of discovering, developing and producing gold in established belts proximal to existing infrastructure.”
