UK’s first coal mine in 30 years faces climate court test
Environmental campaigners are challenging the approval of a coking coal mine in northwest England.
Shares in coal miner Massey Energy jumped 11% and other coal mining stocks rose on the first trading day after Alpha Natural Resources agreed to pay $7bn for the beleaguered stock.
