Foran Mining taps investors for McIlvenna Bay initial phase funding
McIlvenna Bay is currently host to the largest undeveloped VMS deposit in the Flin Flon region in Saskatchewan.
Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co Ltd, Japan’s biggest zinc smelter, plans to produce 104,600 metric tons of refined zinc in the first half of the 2024/25 financial year, up 0.9% from the same period a year earlier, it said on Monday.
The first half runs from April to September.
Zinc is used mainly as an anti-corrosive coating while making galvanized steel.
Here are output plan details, with comparisons against planned second-half production and actual first-half production for the 2023/24 financial year, which ended on March 31.
