CRU, the global mining, metals and fertiliser business intelligence company, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Mark Jeavons as head of its sustainability division. Jeavons, who is based out of London, UK, will have a global remit, using his expertise to support new and existing customers in their journey to a greener future with the development of sustainability strategies across a multitude of industries.

Mark has over 15 years’ experience in a variety of leadership roles spanning ESG and investment. Most recently, as Head of Climate Change Insights at Aon, he developed a market-leading climate change scenarios toolkit and led ESG investment research, driving growth in the responsible investment business globally.

Jeavons will spearhead CRU Sustainability’s growth, working closely with CRU analysts, pricing experts and consultants, to provide guidance on macro challenges such as carbon emission reductions and circular economy, alongside commodity-specific demand trends and regulations.

This will provide the much-needed holistic picture of market impact drivers and insights to accelerate customers’ roadmap to net zero – arguably the most pressing issue faced by many business decision makers today.

“Mark brings a wealth of knowledge of sustainability and investment themes which is the perfect fit for CRU Sustainability as we look to consolidate our position as market-leading experts in the transition to a low-carbon world,” CRU CEO David Trafford said in a media statement.
