AEMA, coalition launch legal challenge to BLM Conservation and Landscape Health Rule
The American Exploration & Mining Association was joined by a coalition in filing a challenge last Friday in the Wyoming district court.
Standard Lithium Ltd. (TSXV: SLL) announced on Monday that former US assistant secretary of state for energy resources Francis Fannon has joined the company in the role of strategic advisor.
Prior to his service with the state department, Fannon led several organizations. As managing director of BHP, Fannon established the company’s US corporate affairs function. He also served as chief US advisor to the BHP Foundation, focusing on transparency and governance, environmental resilience, and education equity.
Fannon also previously served as senior director of government affairs for Murphy Oil Corporation.
“His previous role with Murphy Oil, which included a stint in El Dorado, provides him broad understanding about how to grow an industry leading company that creates good-paying jobs and contributes to the nation’s economy. Frank will be a valuable asset to Standard Lithium, and we are excited to welcome him aboard,” Standard Lithium CEO Robert Mintak said in a media release.
The company’s flagship project is located in southern Arkansas, where it is engaged in the testing and proving of the commercial viability of lithium extraction from over 150,000 acres of permitted brine operations.
