Mexico’s proposed higher mining royalties could block nearly $7bn in investments
The Mexican government proposed raising mining royalties under the argument that metal prices have risen in recent years.
Peru’s Antamina said on Monday that it would halt all operations for at least two weeks to mitigate the spread of covid-19.
The Antamina mine had previously been doing essential work in production and maintenance since Peru, the world’s no. 2 copper producer, imposed a national state of emergency in mid-March.
Antamina, one of the largest copper/zinc mines in the world, also produces lead and silver.
BHP (NYSE: BHP) and Glencore (LON: GLEN) each have 33.75% stakes in Antamina. Teck Resources (NYSE: TECK) holds a 22.5% stake in the mine and Mitsubishi Corporation holds 10%.
Antamina produced 101 million tonnes of copper in 2019.

What if someone reached a scientific research on a chemical method or equation that increases the rate of access to silver metal from its ores by an increase of more than 20% .. = How many million dollars do you think this research equals if the search mechanism was successfully tried?
