Mitas unveils new sizes of CR-01 crane tires

Prague, 7 April 2015 – Two new sizes of Mitas CR-01 crane tires are being released for sale. The all-new Mitas 385/95R25 CR-01 170F TL and 525/80R25 CR-01 176F TL are tires designed for speeds of up to 80 km/h (for 385/95R25) and 90 km/h (for 525/80R25). Maximum operational load capacity of Mitas 525/80R25 CR-01 is 17,750 kg and 7,100 kg at speed 80 km/h under 7 bar. To date, Mitas produces three sizes of CR-01 crane tires and delivers them to major manufacturers such as Liebherr and Manitowoc. The CR-01 tyre will be put on display at the INTERMAT fair in Paris at Mitas stand E051, Hall 5a.

“New sizes of CR-01 crane tires are now ready for shipment to our customers,” said Andrew Mabin, Mitas’ marketing and sales director. “Mitas CR-01 is a durable and reliable tyre. It handles the weight of the crane and the load.”

All Mitas CR-01 tires feature Mitas-Link, a unique connection between tread blocks that increases tyre life while limiting tread movement, even at speeds of up to 90km/h. Mobile cranes move fast on roads, and Mitas-Link keeps tyre thread lugs in a fixed position, which allows for better control of the vehicle and preserving off-road traction. These links also reduce noise levels by blocking the noise generated within the tyre tread from spreading.

The size 525/80R25 CR-01 has a 28 mm deep tread pattern and can be retreaded. In comparison with a standard mobile crane tyre, there is 6 percent lower rolling resistance, which improves fuel efficiency. These results are achieved thanks to an all-steel construction of CR-01. It meets the requirements for winter conditions and can also operate in mud.
