The pioneering range of open-frame PAS dry and VAR wet self-priming centrifugal pumps from Atlas Copco Power Technique delivers the perfect balance between performance, versatility, efficiency and portability.
Over 140 years of industry experience combined with a sound understanding of customer’s needs from all around the world as well as the purchase of market-leading pump designer and manufacturer, Varisco, are key factors that led to the development of the Atlas Copco dewatering range.
Power Technique Business Line Manager, David Stanford, notes that Atlas Copco’s strategy, as a global leader in sustainable productivity solutions, is perfectly aligned to the pump industry. “Our primary focus is on providing efficient products which are better not only for our customers but also for the environment. To this end we develop products that are smaller and lighter with features that deliver the easy use, movement and maintenance trio. Furthermore, we place emphasis on versatility to ensure that we can provide the best solution appropriate for every industry that requires a pump solution from construction, general dewatering, wellpoint, sewage by-pass and reservoir, pond and canal drainage applications to emergency use, such as flood clean up.”
“Our primary focus is on providing efficient products which are better not only for our customers but also for the environment.”
Committed to reducing the customer’s operating costs for lowest possible total cost of ownership, Atlas Copco focusses its dewatering pump range on five key areas – compact, versatile, durable, efficient and simple service. Compact dimensions coupled with light weight makes the pumps easy to move keeping downtime to a minimum. “Our pumps can be transported and installed with minimum hassle, ready to handle dewatering requirements quickly and efficiently,” adds Stanford.
In terms of versatility, Stanford says the focus is on modular design ensuring that one pump is capable of covering multiple applications; the requirement of fewer pumps adds to the customer’s bottom line. From a reliability perspective, these pumps have been tested and verified under the most stringent conditions for reliable performance over a long life span. “Efficiency,” says Stanford, “is one of the most important of the five focus areas. Featuring a high efficiency hydraulic end, our pumps are designed to operate in virtually any environment while consuming very little fuel.” Service was also taken into account during the design of these pumps which are equipped with a hinged cover for fast easy, access to components.
