Gold price set for biggest weekly jump in 13 months on haven demand
The precious metal has surged around 30% so far this year, supported by healthy central bank buying.
Italian designer Alberto Moretti created his and her 24 carat shoes going on sale at exclusive department stores.
There is a high heel version for women and a loafer for men. Made from velvet, the shoes will be covered in gold and will sell for about US$2,671.
Some of the stores that will carry the shoes are Barneys in New York, Fred Segal in L.A., The Swank in Hong Kong, Level Shoe District in Dubai and Harrods in London.
